A Dominican-born hotel housekeeper Carmen Castillo navigates serving on the City Council in Providence, Rhode Island while working a full-time job cleaning hotel rooms. Politicians aren’t often also union members working service jobs, immigrants and grandmothers. But Carmen Castillo changes that with determination to serve her community through efforts to raise wages and clean up her neighborhood amidst corporate interests organizing to undermine their progress. This feature length film is a journey behind the scenes of politics after the victory.
